Before We Begin, Recommended Reading

Here at CommonStock$ense, we have a value-oriented investment bent. Despite recent turmoil in the markets and mounting questions about "what works", buying low/underpriced "merchandise" is time proven. For an excellent read on this topic, we recommend Tweedy, Browne's What Has Worked In Investing, which can be found here. In addition, some of our favorite investment/business books include the following:
  • The Essays of Warren Buffett: Lessons for Corporate America, essays by Warren Buffett and selected, arranged, and introduced by Lawrence Cunningham
  • One Up On Wall Street, Peter Lynch
  • Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits, Philip Fisher
  • John Neff on Investing, John Neff and S.L. Mintz
  • Value Investing – From Graham to Buffet and Beyond, Bruce Greenwald, Judd Kahn, Paul Sonkin, and Michael van Biema
  • The Intelligent Investor, Benjamin Graham
  • Security Analysis, Benjamin Graham and David Dodd
  • Crossing the Chasm: Marketing and Selling Disruptive Products to Mainstream Customers, Geoffrey Moore
Happy reading/investing,

Jeffrey Walkenhorst
